Paediatric First Aid Course Overview

Administer first aid to a Child or Baby who is or requires –

  • UNCONSCIOUS (INCLUDING SEIZURE)
  • CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR)
  • CHOKING ADULT, CHILD & BABY
  • WOUNDED AND BLEEDING
  • SUFFERING FROM SHOCK
  • APPROPRIATE FIRST AID FOR MINOR INJURIES INCLUDING MINOR CUTS, GRAZES, BRUISES, SMALL SPLINTERS, MINOR BURNS AND SCALDS
  • RESUSCITATION (ADULT, CHILD AND BABY FIRST AID)

In addition, discussion of specific work-related injuries/illness to include topics such as –

  • ANAPHYLACTIC SHOCK
  • ASTHMA
  • DIABETES
  • FRACTURES
  • CHILDHOOD ILLNESS
  • HEAD INJURIES
  • POISONS EXTREMES OF BODY TEMPERATURE
  • MEDICATION & DEALING WITH THE UNWELL CHILD

How Long The Certificate Is Valid For?

Paediatric first aid certificate is valid for 3 years.

Can I Fail A Paediatric First Aid Course?

At the conclusion of a Paediatric First Aid course, you must answer a multiple-choice question. If you do not pass this exam, you will be given one chance to retake it. If you fail twice more, you will need to book and attend the course again, allowing you two more chances to retake it.
